What an extraordinary promise we have in this verse… And you can try to turn things around in all directions, when the Bible speaks of “all your needs” it means “all” and that without any exception… If you look in the Greek (the language in which the New Testament was written) you will find that all means all - without any exception ... Whether it is our physical, material, emotional, psychological, etc. needs, we have the promise that God will provide for everything. Isn't that amazing? So let's find out together how to live this reality ...
To have the revelation of these words brings freedom. They no longer leave room for worry, which is a sin from which Jesus invites us to free ourselves (cf. Matthew 6:25, 31, 34 and 10:19). Worry is a sin because it simply reveals our lack of trust and dependence on God… Because when we talk about provision, it is fundamental to remember that God is the only source. He is the One who will provide for all your needs, and if so obviously He uses various means, He remains the only source. If you read the previous verses you see that Paul thanks the disciples in Philippi for sending him money. Paul recognizes that it is God who provided and that the glory is for Him (cf. Philippians 4: 19-20).
So often we do not fully live this reality, would it be because our expectation is no longer fixed on the source - God - but on the means that He could use, such as another person, a company, etc ... For example, the means that God often uses to provide for our needs is an employer, an annuity, clients, etc. However, these are only means, God always remains the source and to focus on the means is to give up depending on God and to put your trust elsewhere ... Which means that when situations change, such as the loss of a jobs, a recession, etc., the pressure and worry comes. Whereas when one knows with confidence that God is the only source, then there is no more room for these kinds of emotions. God is your source and He wants you to be at peace always! So make sure you wait on Him alone ...
Paul also states very clearly in Colossians 2:10 that we have everything fully in Jesus Christ who is the head of all principality and all power. Which implies that nothing can stand in the way of His provision, but it also relates to the power of His resurrection. For when Paul speaks of provision which is according to His riches with glory in Jesus Christ, he clearly means what Christ has acquired for us through His death and resurrection. Everything belongs to Him, His wealth is therefore limitless ... This is the extent to which He desires and will provide for your needs and with glory, which reminds us that we cannot deserve anything for that and that our gratitude belongs to Him ...
What is another important aspect, because knowing how to give glory to God is to remain in this attitude of dependence on Him. Recognition is important because it opens the door to provision and if we are not attentive we can deprive ourselves of His provision simply by lack of recognition… So let us always remain vigilant to thank Him for everything, including the most important things. simpler and more natural, such as food, breathing, sleep, etc. Last thing, the promise covers all of our needs. It is not about our desires, nor what we think we need, but what we really need to accomplish His will ...
So take a moment to celebrate God for His provision and recognize your dependence on Him ... Let the Holy Spirit search your heart so that it is aligned with God and waiting for Him and Him alone ... He desires to fill you so that you are a blessing to your world ..
God blessed you richly so that you bless abundantly ...
