I still remember the first Christmas present I gave to my beloved when it had only been a few weeks since we were together. Nothing was too good for her, that's why my choice fell on a beautiful gold bracelet. I did not consider the price or the implication on my budget, I wanted to please him and for that no sacrifice was too great. Because when you love you don't count and I'm sure you've already experienced this. In this Christmas season when we are looking for the best gift for those we love, it is good to remember that the first Christmas, the day of Christ's birth, is a revelation of this love. which does not count ...

So often the birth of Christ seems something normal, as if it was obligatory or a due ... What is far from being the case, it is an extraordinary moment in history, several angelic manifestations preceded and accompanied the birth of Jesus, several Old Testament prophecies found their fulfillment, a star appeared, etc. Everything was ready to welcome the Son of God, in the same way we must make sure that our hearts are ready to welcome His presence by keeping Him at the center of our Christmas celebrations ...

An extraordinary aspect of this irrelevant love that Christ manifested is that He renounced His divine position in heaven. He chose to shed His kingship, His authority and His divinity to be reduced to the condition of a man like us in every way, but perfect and without sin. It is impossible for us to understand what this decision cost Christ. As He was served by myriads of angels and He chose to come to serve and give Himself on the cross. All this out of love for you and me… Christmas is the choice of the King of kings to strip himself to come and save us, a love that does not count…

He did not choose to be born into an important family living in a palace ... It is in the simplicity of a stable that He was born ... This love which does not count never considers its own interest, but always that of The one who sent him and the others… Christmas invites us to make Christ the center of our lives and our neighbor our priority. To recognize the truth of Christmas is to give up our privileges, our positions, and all other forms of "our" ... to live for Christ and His purposes ...

Before you celebrate and rejoice, why don't you take a moment to thank the Lord for what He has done, for this love that does not matter ... But also to position yourself in order to enter a life of love for the Lord who does not count and for your neighbor! What will your life and your world be like as you love and give yourself without counting ?.

God blessed you richly so that you bless abundantly ...
